Facebook has been using a fake news feed to promote its ‘Weber Spirit Grill’ Instagram page, and has been linked to a ‘fake news’ campaign

Facebook has recently been using its ‘feed’ feature to promote a fake content campaign on its Instagram page.

The page for the ‘Webers’ Restaurant chain, which is owned by the social media company, has a fake Facebook page which has been promoting fake news, according to the Daily Dot.

The site has been showing a photo of a man wearing a black t-shirt emblazoned with a fake ‘Websleuth’ logo on its front page, while a caption reading “Weber’s is back on the grill” appears in the top left corner of the page.

However, the fake Facebook account also has an Instagram account, with the same photos as those on the fake page, including a photo from the same restaurant, and a photo featuring the same man.

A Twitter user with the account has confirmed to Breitbart News that the account is fake, and that the fake account is actually an account from another social media platform, with a user profile.

Breitbart News has contacted Facebook for comment and will update this article when we receive a response.

The fake Facebook Page is currently inactive.

The Instagram page is currently offline, with no new content visible, according the Facebook page.
