RTE has renewed the sitcom Grave Digger for an autumn 2018 season, which will feature the same cast as before.
The sitcom’s revival was first announced by RTE in November 2018.
It follows the life of three teenagers living in the town of Hilden in the West Midlands, who are forced to deal with the death of their father when he suddenly falls ill.
The first episode of the new series will be aired on Friday, October 28, at 9pm, with the second episode to follow on Monday, November 4.
The comedy follows three teenagers who are all struggling with their lives as they attempt to survive in the world of web banking and web sudokas, while battling to cope with their growing online identity.
Gravedigger creator Paul Thomas is a former producer and executive producer of RTE comedy series The Great British Bake Off, which ran from 2012 to 2016.
The new series was created by former RTE executive producer John MacLean, who is also the writer of the series, alongside writer Paul Thomas.
It is a remake of the comedy series Grave Diggers, which starred John Cleese, Jim Davidson, Paul Sorvino, Peter Cushing and James Garner.
It was broadcast in 2010 on Channel 4.
