Man arrested after threatening to shoot bear after Facebook post

A man is accused of threatening to kill a bear after a Facebook post.

According to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court, Christopher Johnson posted a Facebook message Tuesday evening about the bear’s health status on a social media website called BearWeb.

It was accompanied by a photo of a bear, according to the complaint.

According the complaint, Johnson posted, “If you don’t come out of your shelter now, I am going to go kill this bear.”

After Johnson’s threat, BearWeb’s administrators immediately notified the FBI and authorities responded.

A Facebook spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
